The Baltimore Press

Baltimore news
The Baltimore Press is a black-owned newspaper founded in 1991. While the paper still publishes on the web, the daily paper editions ceased in 2006.
Since its founding by R. B. Jones, the newspaper was influential and broke stories that mattered to Black Baltimore, but the mainstream press ignored.  Its focus on the African American community of Baltimore was unwavering and heroic. The Press really mattered at a time when Baltimore was at its lowest point. Crime and corruption were at an all-time high in Charm City, but these heroes put out a newspaper daily reporting on the carnage.
Long before Black Lives Matter, the newspaper reported on police violence against black bodies. Its journalists reported from the front lines of racial injustice.
