STEPS FOR re-tile-and-waterproof-shower-recess-walls

\r\n\r\n

\r\n\r\n

To\r\nbegin, we carefully remove the shower screen and wall tiles .As the tiles are\r\nadhered to the wall lining it is not possible to pry the tiles from the wall\r\nlining, instead we remove the wall lining and tiles using a precision\r\ntool to cut out the wall tiles and lining to provide a neat finish so that you\r\nwill not need to worry about damage to areas outside the shower.

\r\n\r\n

If necessary, we treat any rotten framing timber in the wall\r\ncavity by either replacing or reinforcing with new timber framing before\r\ninstalling fresh new wall linings, using either plasterboard or sheeting- the\r\nproduct used is dependent on the product that has been used to the remainder of\r\nthe bathroom to ensure consistency in wall finishes

\r\n\r\n

Once the new wall lining has been installed, we prime the\r\narea and fill any penetrations or joins in the sheeting with fast cure\r\npolyurethane

\r\n\r\n

The first coat of our 2 step waterproofing system is then\r\napplied, followed by a second application once the first application has cured.

\r\n\r\n

Next we install the tiles to the shower recess walls,\r\nfollowed by the grout.

\r\n\r\n

Caulking is the silicone product used to fill the vertical\r\njunctions where the tiles meet, and the horizontal junctions where the wall\r\ntiles meet the shower base.

\r\n\r\n

New plumbing fittings are installed if you have opted to\r\nupgrade fittings, or any existing tap covers and shower heads are re-installed.

\r\n\r\n

To finish, we install a new shower screen.
