Saint Stanislaus Catholic Day & Boarding School for Boys

Creating Men of Character
Welcome to Saint Stanislaus, the oldest existing establishment of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart in America, boasting a long and colorful history dating back to 1854.  Blessed with talented leaders and generous benefactors, Saint Stanislaus grew from its humble beginning into an educational institution of great renown.
Now a Catholic boys residential and day school with more than three hundred plus high school and junior high students from the local area, the U.S., and countries around the world, Saint Stanislaus has a centuries-old tradition of academic excellence and a commitment to developing men of character.
Education according to the tradition of the Brothers of the Sacred Heart is holistic, rooted in religious values, structured through friendly discipline, nurtured by personal attention, and committed to academic excellence.
Saint Stanislaus offers a junior and senior high designed to help students achieve academic success in college and success in life. Faith development and character formation, along with sports, extracurricular activities, and service, contribute to the total experience of Saint Stanislaus. Through supervision, discipline, and structure, the residency program gives particular emphasis to personal attention that adjusts freedom and responsibility to each student’s capacity for trust.
Our students come from across the bay in Pass Christian, Mississippi, and from as far away as Beijing, China.  They are exposed to peers with similar backgrounds and others with life experiences that are much more diverse.  Our students come with rich cultures and heritages.  The education experience at Saint Stanislaus goes beyond the classroom to include a real learning environment where students are exposed to new traditions, points-of-view, and ideas.  Boarding and day students bring different perspectives to the campus.  These students interact with one another in the classroom, on athletic fields, during extracurricular activities, and socially. Because of these experiences, our students develop a far greater appreciation of the diverse world community in which we live.
Our campus and location are further enhanced by our proximity to Our Lady Academy, with whom we share a special relationship.  Our Lady Academy is an all-girls college preparatory junior and senior high school located across the street from Saint Stanislaus.  Students at Our Lady Academy take part in classes at Saint Stanislaus, attend activities and events at Saint Stanislaus, participate in sports, dances, and in traditions like cheering on the Rock-A-Chaws during Friday night football games.
Saint Stanislaus is located in Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, named one of USA Today’s Best Coastal Small Towns in 2020.  Nestled on the Gulf of Mexico, Bay St. Louis (population 9,408) has served as the home to Saint Stanislaus since its founding in 1854.  The campus of Saint Stanislaus is a short walk to historic Old Town Bay St. Louis which is home to art galleries, restaurants, and fine boutiques.
Bay St. Louis is in the center of two major metropolitan areas – New Orleans is 70 miles to the west and Gulfport-Biloxi is 21 miles to the east.  No city in the U.S. can compete with New Orleans when it comes to culture, food, historic architecture, and sports.  Coastal Mississippi and its 62 miles of scenic shoreline lies to the east of Saint Stanislaus.  Art museums, charter fishing, boutique retailers, casinos, fairways, family attractions, and beaches make it a desirable destination for fun and adventure.
The Brothers of the Sacred Heart were founded by a French priest, Father Andre Coindre (1787 – 1826) in 1821.  He founded the Institute to “rescue young people from ignorance, to prepare them for life, and to gain them a knowledge and love of religion.” Nearly 200 year later, the Brothers of the Sacred Heart and Saint Stanislaus continue to focus on the education and formation of young men.
