A tooth will need root canal therapy if the pulp becomes inflamed or infected as a result of caries, trauma, numerous restorations, etc. There will be an access opening, pulp removal, cleaning, shape, and replacement of the canals with harmless temporary material. The tooth will require crown restoration after the root canal procedure is finished. A dental crown or cap could be constructed up of either metal, porcelain-fused-to-metal (PFM) or all-ceramic. Each cap or crown is selected based on the patient's financial situation, whether it will be placed in the front or back, or its quality.
