Do not stop taking Xareltornwithout first talking to your doctor. Stopping suddenly can increase your riskrnof blood clot or stroke.

Rivaroxaban is used to prevent blood clots from forming duernto a certain irregular heartbeat (atrial fibrillation) or after hip or kneernreplacement surgery. It is also used to treat blood clots (such as in deep veinrnthrombosis-DVT or pulmonary embolus-PE) and to prevent the blood clots fromrnforming again.Rivaroxaban is an anticoagulant that works by blocking certainrnclotting proteins in your blood.

Take this drug with food.
rnrnThose who have feeding tubes may also use the 15 mg or 20 mgrntablets. Crush tablets and mix with 50 mL of water. Give within 4 hours ofrnmixing. Give enteral feeding right after giving dose.

Store at room temperature away from light and moisture. Dornnot store in the bathroom. Keep all medications away from children andrnpets.Use/discard the crushed tablet mixture within 4 hours. People who have any type of spinal or epidural procedure arernmore likely to have bleeding problems around the spine when already on thisrndrug. This bleeding rarely happens, but can lead to not being able to move bodyrn(paralysis) long-term or paralysis that will not go away. The risk is raised inrnpeople who have problems with their spine, a certain type of epidural catheter,rnor have had spinal surgery. The risk is also raised in people who take anyrnother drugs that may affect how the blood clots like blood-thinner drugs (likernwarfarin), aspirin, or nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Talk withrnthe doctor.
rnrnTell your doctor you use this drug before you have a spinalrnor epidural procedure. Call your doctor right away if you have any signs ofrnnerve problems like back pain, numbness or tingling, muscle weakness,rnparalysis, or loss of bladder or bowel control.
rnrnTalk with your doctor if you have recently had or will bernhaving a spinal or epidural procedure. Some time may need to pass between thernuse of this drug and your procedure. Talk with your doctor.
rnrnStopping this drug before you are supposed to may raise thernchance of blood clots. Do not stop taking this drug without talking to yourrndoctor.
