WhatsApp will Hide Last Seen Status from Unknown Contacts

WhatsApp rolled out a WhatsApp privacy feature that allows users to hide their "Last Seen" status from unknown contacts, by default.

Previously, WhatsApp's default settings allowed anyone or "Everyone" to see the user's Last Seen status.

Furthermore, this new WhatsApp update limits the visibility of Last Seen status to people to whom a contact has been added. WhatsApp also by default sets the Last Seen WhatsApp status to only be seen by "My Contact".

Quoting The Verge, Tuesday (12/14/2021), in an upload on Twitter, a user explained, later on maybe someone won't be able to see other people's statuses on the WhatsApp platform. It also includes a screenshot from WhatsApp Support explaining this new privacy feature.

"We make it difficult for people you don't know and haven't chatted with to see 'Last Seen' and your online presence on WhatsApp," WhatsApp Support said in the email.
