It makes sense to allow players to play for free

The previous level cap was 100. which means Fragnance was able to create his demon hunter before Legion was launched the night before. The free-to-play version Blizzard tainment's chart-topping massively multiplayer on-line game World of Warcraft "makes sense" in the end, creator Tom Chilton has said.
Speaking to Polygon, Chilton said Blizzard Tainment does not oppose an idea of transforming the subscription-based game into free-to-play, but continues to have issues with this type of switch.
"For Blizzard, it makes sense to allow players to play for free at some time," Chilton said. "But most of the risk comes with the change. You hear stories about developers going free-to-play and getting twice the amount of players, but you don't always understand why it works in this manner as well as how long this way. We're still not certain of WoTLK Classic Gold the current rate is prior to when people go away and become bored."
