Bush Walking

Surrounded by the beautiful Morton National Park Kangaroo Valley has some great walks on offer. From a leisurely stroll around the village or longer hikes through pristine bushland for the more adventurous there is something for everyone.

From Upper Kangaroo Valley, through Kangaroo Valley Village itself, and on to Tallowa Dam, the river never ceases to create interest for visitors. Hampden Bridge

The unique Hampden Bridge crosses the river near Kangaroo Valley Village and is worth a stop for pictures alone. Kayaking can be enjoyed at several spots along the river but the most popular spot is Lake Yarrunga, formed by the impressive Tallowa Dam. This structure holds the waters of the Kangaroo and Shoalhaven Rivers and a paddle up either river leads to some stunning features and offers great fishing.

Mountain Bike Riding

Kangaroo Valley is a beautiful location to explore by bike. Rather than worrying about bringing your own, KVAC’s fleet of quality mountain bikes can be hired for self guided trips or as part of a Hiking and Biking Adventure.


Kanga Kayak Hire also has tandem bikes for hire. This is a fun way for 2 people to explore Kangaroo Valley.

Horse Riding

Kangaroo Valley Village

Birdwatching

Kangaroo valley is a great birding location, centred on a region including the nearby Illawarra and Shoalhaven where more than 300 species have been recorded. Illawarra Fly Walk Tree Top Adventures

The Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk is a unique rainforest experience, where you walk through the beautiful warm temperate rainforest at 25 metres above the ground. Set atop the escarpment of Knight’s Hill, the 500 metre walkway features two cantilevered arms that sway and take visitors to the edge of the forest, which stands at an exhilarating 45 metres above the forest floor and offers spectacular views of the Illawarra and Wollongong region.
