Dr. Ankit Desai is a board-certified
ophthalmologist and a specialist in the medical and surgical treatment of
vitreoretinal and macular diseases. Dr. Desai is a native Chicagoan. He grew
up in Joliet, Illinois where he studied molecular biochemistry and biophysics
at the Illinois Institute of Technology. After that, he went on to earn his
medical degree from the Chicago medical school and graduated with honors. He
then completed his ophthalmology residency at Saint Louis University and a
two-year surgical fellowship in Vitreoretinal Disease at Henry Ford Hospital.
Dr. Desai was practicing in Southern Illinois
before 2017. After that, he returned to
Chicagoland in 2017. He was also an associate professor of ophthalmology at
Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, and Saint Louis University in
Saint Louis, Missouri. He started Windy City Retina in September 2020. With years of experience and expertise in
